Carpet cleaning in Central and Mid-Levels

Office floors with strict building rules, and hillside flats with narrow lifts and steep access. What to expect when booking carpet cleaning in Central.

Two very different jobs

In Central itself, most carpet is in offices. A few minutes up the escalator, it is mainly in apartments. The access and timing are quite different, so we plan them differently.

Offices in Central

Grade A towers usually have strict rules on contractors. You should expect some or all of these:

  • Work allowed only after hours or at weekends
  • Permit or contractor registration through the building's management office
  • Goods lift booking and loading bay limits
  • Requests for insurance or method documents

Parking and loading space are scarce here, so it helps to have your facilities contact involved from the start. Most offices here have carpet tile on raised floors, where moisture has to be controlled. See office carpet cleaning.

Serviced offices and small firms in older buildings usually have simpler rules, but ask your landlord before booking. A lease-end clean should be arranged early too, since a handover date in Central does not leave room for delay.

Homes in Mid-Levels and Sheung Wan

Apartments on the hillside can be harder to reach than they look on a map. Steep roads, limited street parking and small passenger lifts all affect how long a job takes. So please tell us about the following when you ask for a quote:

  • Your building and floor
  • Whether there is a goods lift, or a service lift you can book
  • Where a van can stop nearby

Damp is the other local concern. Hillside flats near greenery and against slopes tend to stay humid in spring and summer. We pay extra attention to drying here, and may suggest a date with drier air if it can wait. Our humidity guide explains why.

Many homes here also have good wool rugs, which often need different treatment from fitted carpet. See rug cleaning.

Getting a quote

Send us the building name, the floor area and a photo. For offices, a floor plan and your management office's contractor rules will save time. We travel to customers, rather than working from a Central shopfront. Ask for a free quote.
