How Hong Kong Carpets collects and uses personal data.
This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, and optionally your email, district, details of your premises and your message. We also record the page you sent it from.
We store a one-way scrambled version of your IP address to help prevent abuse. We do not keep the IP address itself with your enquiry.
If you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email, those services also process your message under their own policies.
How we use it
We use your data to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and carry out work, and keep records of our services. We will not use it for direct marketing without your consent.
Who can see it
Only people who need your data to deal with your enquiry can access it. We may use service providers such as website hosting and email, who process data for us. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need them for the purposes above, and for our business records and legal obligations. After that, we delete them.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies that are needed for it to work, including one that protects forms against misuse. If analytics are enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies to give us anonymous-style statistics on how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as identity document or payment card numbers through our forms.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, or correction of, the personal data we hold about you. To do so, please use our contact page. We may charge a reasonable fee for access requests, as allowed by the Ordinance.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
