Our carpet cleaning process
What happens from your first message to the moment you walk on a clean carpet, including how to prepare and how to help it dry.
Before the day
1. You send us the details
A photo, the rough size, your district and any stains you are worried about. WhatsApp is the easiest way. For offices, floor plans and building rules help too.
2. We recommend a method and quote
We tell you what we would do and why, what is included, and what to expect. For large areas or delicate rugs, we may need to see it first.
3. We sort out access
For flats, this may mean a goods lift booking or parking. For offices and retail, it means working hours, management approval and sometimes insurance documents. Tell us about your building's rules as early as you can.
On the day
4. Inspection
We check the fibre, how the carpet was installed, existing damage, and which stains are present. Anything we are concerned about, we point out before we begin.
5. Colour and sensitivity test
On rugs and any carpet that might bleed, we test the products on an inconspicuous area first.
6. Dry soil removal
Thorough vacuuming comes first. Dry soil is much easier to remove when dry, and once wet it can turn to mud in the pile.
7. Pre-treatment and spotting
Heavy traffic routes get a pre-spray. Individual stains get treatments suited to what caused them, which is why it helps if you can tell us.
8. Cleaning
We clean by the agreed method. See the comparison of cleaning methods.
9. Grooming and drying
We leave the pile set in one direction and set up the airflow. Then we walk through the result with you.
How you can prepare
- Clear small items, toys, and anything fragile from the floor.
- Tell us about pets, recent spot treatments and any concerns.
- Vacuuming beforehand is not necessary, though it never hurts.
- Keep children and pets out of the working area.
After we finish
- Help it dry. Run air conditioning, a dehumidifier or fans, and open windows only if the air outside is drier than the air inside. On humid spring days, it usually is not.
- Go gently. Wet carpet is slippery on hard floors nearby, and it marks more easily. Wear clean socks if you need to cross it.
- Wait before moving furniture back. Damp carpet can pick up rust or stain from furniture legs. Foil or plastic tabs help if something has to go back early.
- Tell us if a stain reappears. Some stains wick back up from deep in the pile as the carpet dries. If that happens, contact us.
Common questions
How long does the cleaning take?
It depends on the size, condition and method. We will give you an estimate with the quote so that you can plan your day.
Do I have to be at home?
Someone should be there at the start for the walk-through, and at the end to check the result. For offices, a building or facilities contact works well.
Is the cleaning safe for children and pets?
Tell us about children, pets and any sensitivities when you book so that we can discuss product choices. Keep them away from the area until the carpet is dry.
