Offices of every kind

Kowloon East has changed a lot, and its offices vary widely. There are modern Grade A towers around Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay, and many firms have also moved into former industrial buildings with new fit-outs. That mix affects how carpet cleaning needs to be arranged.

Newer towers

Expect rules similar to those in Central: after-hours work, contractor permits, and booked goods lifts. Ask your management office early, and give us what they send you.

Converted industrial buildings

These are usually simpler for access, as large goods lifts and loading bays are common. But there are some things to look out for:

  • Building hours. Goods lifts and loading bays may close in the evening and at weekends. Please check.
  • Dust. Neighbouring workshops and renovations can bring in heavy, gritty soil.
  • Air conditioning. It may not run after hours, and that can slow drying. Tell us, so that we can plan for it.
  • Fit-out quality. Budget carpet tile can show wear quickly. A good vacuum and regular interim cleaning make a big difference.

Office moves and lease ends

This is a common reason firms call us in Kowloon East. If your tenancy requires professional carpet cleaning when you leave, check the wording, then book the clean after the furniture has gone, since that is the only time the whole floor can be reached. Do it before your handover inspection, and leave time for drying.

Ongoing maintenance

Many offices here have a large floor area and a tight budget. Focusing on routes to the pantry, reception and meeting rooms is usually better value than cleaning everything at once. Our office carpet maintenance guide explains how to plan this. See also office carpet cleaning.

If the carpet has been neglected, ask about deep cleaning, or find out whether replacing the worst tiles makes more sense.

Common questions

When should we book a lease-end clean?

After the furniture is out, and before the handover inspection. Allow for drying time, and book early in case your building requires a permit.

What if the air conditioning is off at night?

Tell us when you enquire. Drying takes longer without it, so we may adjust the method, bring additional air movement, or change the timing.
